Offensive strategy is the first thing that comes to our mind when dealing with Search Engine Optimization strategies. This is the most common type of strategies that are being use by several SEO companies to raise their targeted website rank from their present position. Aside from being the most costly strategy a company can do, there is also a risk of being tagged as negative SEO. On the other hand, defensive strategy is designed to defend the current position of the website. It creates barriers to deter a new entry and ensures a competitive and stable website rank.
In flaking strategy, you misguide your opponents that there is no competition at all and suddenly emerging how established you are making your competitor out of your league until they realized that it is too late for them to compete. This can be something like launching social network in your niche but not focusing on the really critical areas while gaining some hidden advantage.
Aside from the above mentioned tactics, “guerrilla” SEO strategy exists. It involves launching of lots of new small sites targeting specific keywords. In this tactic however, requires a skilled SEO, making sure that the sites he created are different from one another. There are also strategies that are not recommendable when doing SEO as they are primarily negative in nature. Usually it is the smallest sites that are vulnerable to this SEO malpractice.
